Health insurance reform for the senior citizens of America- protection and reform so they can maintain the help they need:

Medicare is due to reduce its fees some twenty percent within the next year or two. When this happens, more than one doctor is going to reduce their patient numbers that depend on Medicare to get their care. Prescription costs are rising for seniors and the trust fund that Medicare relies on will be running out in around six years. This is one of the many reasons why America needs health reform.

By implementing a reform on health care and insurance, actions can be taken to reverse this impending dilemma before it takes place. Health reform is an important issue with the United States Government at this time. The president is working with congress and the senate to ensure that change does indeed take place and that the lives of the American citizens can be made easier.

If reform is allowed to take its full course, then the high cost for prescriptions will be reduced and the doctors will not have to reduce their patient numbers. Not to mention that the Medicare trust fund will last substantially longer. At this point in time, health reform is an ongoing process that will have to constantly be modified and adjusted over time.

With all the proposals floating around in congress, it is up to the public to reconcile which ones may fare well, and which ones will be detrimental to society. Of course, at this present time there is no telling how it will turn out, But Max Baucus seems to be striving for the assurance that many without health insurance and with seem to lack.

As of now, there are several aspects of America’s Healthy Future Act that will most likely be debated over, but it seems almost entirely beneficial to the American society. If the proposal is implemented, no longer will health insurance companies be able to drop coverage because someone was ill in the past or comes down with an illness. For those Americans that fall beneath a certain percentage on the poverty scale, they will be able to have Medicaid, regardless of age or stature.

As with auto insurance, health insurance will be mandatory for everyone in the country. This may seem unfair, but it has been made known in the past that many people fail to obtain health insurance on supposition that he/she will be taken care of anyway. By requiring that everyone gain coverage, the government is attempting to help the economy. It is still to early to tell, but if the aspects of the new proposal remain intact, many Americans are going to find that obtaining health care will have become much more simple.
